I'm not sure if the proliferation of flare was an optical flaw or had more to do with poorly designed housings - but the original Victories were the worst "flare-performers" I have ever used. Everything that came between the Night Owl and the FL though, had unacceptable levels of chromatic abberation (especially the 10x Victories, which could double as a kaleidoscope!) and flare. By moving away from leaded glass (and very thick elements at that), Zeiss had to re-invent similar (or superior) performing optical glass - which they clearly have with the FL. This glass was developed and perfected over a 100 year period, and perhaps this explains something. But, the primary reason for their heft is that this is the last pair of binoculars Zeiss made using "environmentally unfriendly" leaded Schott glasss. Now, the weight is understandably a deal breaker unless, like me, you have a masochistic streak when it comes to superior optics. The image sparkles in the same way that the 7x42 B/GAT image sparkled (and the 7x42 FL). But the image quality - WOW!!! They are sharp (especially in the center - a Zeiss signature) and bright beyond compare (Abbe-Konig prisms). First, they are big and heavy - more so than the newer 10x56 FL's. Was it possible that the Night Owls had some magical image/build quality that Zeiss has simply been unable to recapture (as with the 7x42B/GAT)? Well, I just came across a beautifully maintained Zeiss 10x56 Night Owl, and using them has been quite a revelation. I have wondered ever since, why every pair of Zeiss Victory and Victory FL binocular has left me so unmoved (either optically or mechanically). How do I fix this when I cannot see the Windows screen or from the monitor.Years ago I owned and loved my Zeiss 7x45 Night Owls, but it was very difficult to justify their size and weight as optically nearly-equal, but much lighter alternatives were introduced - so I sold them.

All I see is the black background screen with white text with the above message.

I cannot see the PC screens at all even though the PC is on. Unplugges the video cable from the PC to the monitor and re-plugged it and nothing Unplugged the power to the monitor and re-plugged it and no change Turned the PC on and off several times and the message is still there I cannot see anything else and I have tried the following: However, I cannot change anything and that small screen with black background disappears in a few seconds. I press the buttons at the bottom of the monitor and from time to time, it displays a resolution screen that shows the monitor's resolution is not 1600 x 900 but that HP recommends that setting. It displays this message and then the monitor goes to sleep. Within 5 seconds, a dark black screen appeared with the following message: But the other day, I ran the Microsoft's Fix-it-Center and ran the resolution problem detection even though I did not have any problem with the resolution.

Initially, I hooked it up to the pc and it worked and I did not have to install anything. I have a HP desktop PC and I recently purchased a HP 2011X (20" flat monitor).
